There has been much speculation about Paul’s thorn in the flesh. Although the Bible is purposely vague about the specific details of whether this tormenting affliction was spiritual, mental, physical, or all three, Paul was given the thorn in the flesh to keep him from becoming conceited so that God’s strength would be apparent in his weaknesses.
