Peter’s life demonstrated the “proven genuineness” of his faith. The end result of that faith was the salvation of his soul. Our salvation begins with God-given “new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Our salvation is consummated when we are joined with the Lord for eternity “into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.”
