Romans 12:1-2

Romans 12:1-2 provides a summary plan of action for the whole Christian life that begins with comprehending the mercy of God. And in view of the mercy of God, the first directive in verse one is to offer our bodies, our whole beings, as living sacrifices. The sacrifice that Paul has in mind is the whole burnt offering, a sacrifice of consecration and devotion to God. We offer ourselves to God because we are from him, through him, and for him (Romans 11:36).
