Romans 11:1-10

Paul is emphatic that God has not rejected his people, the children of Israel. No matter how many Israelites rejected the Messiah, God preserved a remnant. That was God’s message to Elijah when Elijah thought that he was all alone in serving God. Even though Elijah was a mighty prophet of God, his isolation caused him to be afraid. God had to speak to Elijah to refresh him and renew his purpose. God calls us to be rightly joined with the remnant, the children of God in a local church, and not be isolated.
