Luke 17:11-19

Gratitude is an attitude, the willingness to show appreciation and to return kindness. But gratitude by itself, if it is not expressed, does not affect us or others. We express our gratitude, we take action, by giving thanks. Both the attitude and the action are important. The Bible is replete with examples of those who thanked God and others, and constant reminders that we should also continually thank God and others. When we give thanks our focus shifts from ourselves to God, to those around us, and to our circumstances. When we give thanks we acknowledge and appreciate God and others. When we give thanks it enlivens our spirits, our souls, and our bodies.
