History
New Life Fellowship Church was organized in August of
1989. Shortly afterwards, under the direction of the founding pastor, Art
Webb, the congregation bought a 5,700 square foot church building with 10 acres
of land on Poplar Tent Road in Concord, North Carolina. This was purchased from
the Western Conference of the United Methodist Church and is our current
location.
In the fall of 1992, realizing the need for more space, a new addition was
constructed an 8,000 square foot addition for a new sanctuary and classrooms.
The church has always had a passion for the ministry of children. In 1995, New
Life Child Development Center was founded. Then in 1997, New Life Christian
Academy for ages K4 through 6th grade was founded.
As the ministries of the church began to grow, so did the need for more space.
In 1999, a 12,500 square foot multi-purpose building was constructed.
The church has been blessed with opportunities to purchase additional parcels of
property adjacent to our property giving the church a total of 18 1/2 acres of
property.
Continued school growth required that the sanctuary be moved into the gym. The
old sanctuary was converted into 6 classrooms.
After spending some years
worshipping in the gym the Lord laid upon the heart of our pastor a desire to
build a new structure
that
would be dedicated to the worship of Jesus Christ. So in November of 2005 we
began the construction of a new church sanctuary. This project would be like
none other we had undertaken here at New Life. We decided, with the help of the
Holy Spirit, that we could build this sanctuary with donated money and when it
was completed we would move into a debt free facility. We have completed 70% of
this building and all of the finances have come in and we continue to believe
God to supply the last 30% to complete the work.
We know that the best days of New
Life are still ahead of us and we stay committed to the calling of God for this
church, the community and the world.
